When I first learned to drive, my driving instructor always said that the car will go in the direction that you are looking. In other words, if your focus is on the left, then the car will go left. It is fascinating how the same concept is applied to our thoughts. We must understand that what we focus our physical senses upon, especially in repetition, will ultimately become a part of us. It is important to be aware of how our physical senses can alter our mindset in a positive or negative way. For example, it is difficult to seek peace and a positive environment if your ears are hearing negative news reports, or your eyes are focusing upon violent movies over and over again. Remember that your perception ultimately becomes your reality. While you cannot control everyone or everything from day to day, you can control what you want your physical senses to experience. If you feel that everything is obnoxiously loud and ugly, change your focus and steer it in the direction that you want it to go in. Look at something beautiful, so put some flowers on your desk at work, or cook your favorite dish that smells heavenly! Listen to songs with positive lyrics or switch it up with some classical music. Now, put it all together and you have stimulated your senses in a positive way and created a different enivironment using only a few small changes. Remember to take the wheel and steer yourself towards whatever good thing that you desire! Make it happen!
