I recently came across the clothing line called "Live To Love" i must say, im thinking of buying a thing or two. I love when people do things for the better good and with a purpose beyond just monetary gain. I saw several people wearing these hoodies when i was in LA awhile back, i inquired but everyone made it seem like a secret society. The group has been around for some times now, If im correct their fifth studio album will be in stores this year! All a round great group! For more info on Hot Hot Heat check out their Official Website, Myspace, Twitter & Youtube

CLASSIC ALBUM REWIND: Swv Release Some Tension
Swv's Release some Tension is the only album that i think to this day is filled with guest appearances that didn't sound like a bunch of hoopla! This album is my favorite album from SWV and i still play it today (yesterday as a matter of fact) Release Some Tension is SWV's third album. With guest appearances by E-40, P. Diddy, Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown, Lil' Cease, Lil' Kim, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and Redman. The album released singles like; "Rain", "Someone", "Can We" and a cancelled single "Lose My Cool". A lot of people slept HARD on this album simply because RCA failed to promote it. Some of the hottest producers of out during the sweet music season of 1997 played a part; from Diddy to Timbaland. The album was certified gold for shipping 500,000 copies in the U.S. alone, but it deserved so much more! Swv falls right underneath TLC for best selling girl group of All time at 27million. (Destiny's child is number one at 65million) But honestly i think they were the best girl group of the 90's, hands down. Without album sells.
Artist Spotlight: Rey Fresco
Something about this band called Rey Fresco, brings a refreshing smile to my face. The sound im still trying to figure it out but even if i dont i like them a lot. The group consist of four guys who started off as just high school buddies. Lead singer Roger Keiaho, self taught drummer Andrew Jones, bass player Shawn Echevarria and Xocoyotzin Moraza (aka Xoco and pronounced sho-ko) is the harpist, guitarist, and requinto jarocho player. Rey Fresco is organically build a buzz. They even recently performed at their first sold out show in California.(Rey Fresco at West Beach Festival 2009)
Artist Spotlight: Blu
I don't know how i came across Blu but when i did I automatically want to know more. Blu is a rapper and producer from San Pedro, California. Many people may already know him from his debut album, Below the Heavens. Word is he passed on signing with Interscope and Death Row to sign with a LA based independent label Sound in Color in 2004. Blu was named Rookie of the Year in 2007 by HipHopDX and named XXL magazine's Top 10 Freshmen of 09! He's work with Talib Kweli, Kid Cudi, Johnson&Jonson, The late great J.DILLA and many others.(Blu & Exile "Blu Collar Workers")

Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief Telethon Tonight!!!
Books: "Kill Your Friends" By John Niven
Now, i know your thinking WTF?? The titled..I know however this book is so good, I had to share. The book is about a morally bankrupt 27-year-old by the name of Steven Stelfox. He's an music A&R who has the mouth of a sailor, who is an alcoholic and a coke head through his entire music career. It gets to a point where everything that inspired him in the beginning to embark on this career, he absolutely hates! Without telling you the book a lot takes place and he is left to try and find his next big thing, just to get money to prolong his habits and ventures. It's a great read but i will say this; if your not into humor that involves everything from blood to semen, or that is racist and misogynistic. This may not be the book for you! ENJOY

The New York Times To Charge Online Readers And Media Notes
Some of you may be upset but New York Times Chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. is gearing up to announce that the paper will begin charging for access to its website. After a year of debate, the choice for some time has been between a Wall Street Journal-type pay wall and the metered system adopted by the Financial Times, in which readers can sample a certain number of free articles before being asked to subscribe. The Times seems to have settled on the metered system. to read full story click here

Artist Spotlight: K Michelle
So earlier today i stumbled upon this beautiful voice via youtube. It grab me that i actually sat and watched all her youtube videos. Her name is K. Michelle and she is from Memphis, Tn. Michelle is currently signed on Jive Records and is awaiting the release of her debut album Pain Medicine. Behind this beauty and talent there is also brains as Michelle is a graduated of Florida A&M University. She earned a musical scholarship but eventually switched her major to Biology. However, she never stopped singing. Michelle eventually graduated from college and decided to make music her main focus. For several months she toured Asia as a singer with Memphis orchestra Sound Fuzion. Upon her return to Memphis, she took an office job, created a Myspace page and within a week caught the attention of a production company in Atlanta. Seeing this as her big break, she moved to Atlanta with the goal of securing a record deal. But that didn't happen for another two years. Thanks to a chance run in with ERIKA WRIGHT, Michelle got the big break she needed. During a trip to Jive's New York offices. K. Michelle wowed Jive executives and received a deal. Michelle is putting the finishing touches on her debut album, where she writes and co-produces every track. Not to mention she has some of the industry's finest behind her. Producers such as; Salaam Remi, Drumma Boy, Elvis, Cool & Dre, Rico Love, Lil Ronnie, Platinum Brothers and Harvey Mason Jr.Janet Jackson covers Gotham
