Maya Angelou celebrated her 80th birthday at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta which was hosted by Lynn Whitfield and Tyler Perry. Everyone from T.I, Quincy Jones, Nicole Ari Parker, Pearl Cleage and her husband Zaron Burnett Jr, and many, many others.
Maya Angelou has also been nominated for the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize.

Pearl Cleage and her daughter used to shop in my store every saturday and they were not the nicest pair. i would see them coming and go out of my way to not help them. the first time i saw her i was excited, pleasant, and went above and beyond to help them, but after the cold shoulder feeling and ungratefullness, i knew for the next year and a half to leave them be.
i've never even seen her smile. it looks weird.
