The film is adapted from the book "Derby Girl," about the life of author Shauna "Maggie Mayhem" Cross of the L.A. Derby Dolls. The movie will follow a small-town Texas girl who finds her identity through a local roller derby league. Not only will Drew Barrymore play a character in the movie its also her directorial debut.
