Four students have gotten 'immediate long-term suspension and public service." After they confessed to officials at a Christian university in Oregon to hanging a likeness of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama from a tree on campus.Apparently the students were upset about Obama rejecting "Act Six," which is a scholarship and leadership program for minority and low-income student leaders at Christian colleges primarily located in the Northwest. So they took it upon themselves to make and hang a life size cardboard cutout of Obama from a tree last week with fishing line around the neck.
A recent statement from George Fox University has cited federal privacy rules in not disclosing more about the students or their punishment. Meanwhile, the FBI continues to investigate whether any civil rights were violated.
