I swear every moment of the day i wonder what has gotten into the world we live in. This story adds to my wondering. Three teenagers have been charged as adults with a charge of first-degree murder for the beating death of 16-year-old Derrion Albert. Albert was an "innocent bystander" who walked into the middle of a street fight between two groups of feuding teens last Thursday, which eventually lead to his death at the hands of three young men. Silvonus Shannon, 19, Eugene Riley, 18, and Eric Carson, 16, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office, were ordered and held without bond today. This just saddens me. Every time i turn on my TV it's something that at the age of these young men are at, should be known better! This is a perfect example of how parents need to a better job of raising their kids. Who are these young men who THOUGHT they had all the power and reason to take someones life! But also for the bystander who video taped this and didn't even attempt to call the police, only to get TWO THUMBS up for trying to make a joke at the expense of someones life. He should as well see some time (if it was up to me).. why do we continue to lose kids at the hands of poverty, lack of education, lack of parenting and ignorance? By the way, a lot of people are rooting for the 2010 Olympics to take place in Chicago.. But i beg to differ, I'm afraid of all the innocent people who could once again lose lives.
