Glamour names Rihanna a 2009 Woman of the Year, honoring her for her style, her songs, her work with the Believe Foundation and for being a positive role model. She graces the cover of Glamour discussing how she coped after the Chris Brown incident, her message to young women and her new album. Looking radiant. The December issue hits newsstands November 10, and Rihanna will be honored by the magazine at the annual Women of the Year event at Carnegie Hall on November 9.
On the ordeal with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown
“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”

On her message to young women
“My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.”

On feeling alone
“My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.”

On her personal growth over the past year
“I am stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.”

On her new album
“I’ve put everything I’ve wanted to say for the past eight months into my music. [My new album] is super fearless—which is exactly how I feel right now. I am in a really good place.”

On relationships
“I want to find love in the next 10 years—that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love!”

On The Photo LEAK
"It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women"
I for one am extremely proud of Rihanna! She hasn't spoken out on the situation and i honestly think its because she doesn't want to continue being the mockery of people's immature jokes. Even in her interviews that are This Thursday and Friday on GMA and 20/20, I don't think she's going to say much. I for one have been there and i completely understand. Especially after the photos were released. Thats was insulting to her privacy and disrespectful. I for one and a SUPA Rihanna fan.
