Remembering our Past, Embracing the Future: New Lady Liberty Coin

 
 I don't know if you guys have heard but for the first time in 225 years Lady Liberty will not be a white women. The coin whose commemorative series to honor the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Mint will be available for sale in April. The coin is worth $100 face value and it is 24-karat gold.

 There will be a collection of coins that will feature designs that depict an allegorical Liberty in a variety of contemporary forms-including designs representing Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Indian-Americans among others-to reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States according to the U. S. Treasury. The coins are a part of a year-long celebration celebrating the mint theme will be “Remembering our Past, Embracing the Future.”

This could not come at a better time! Job well done highlighting women of other backgrounds. Because this country is what it is because of all of us.
