Lionsgate has acquired the rights to the stage play 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf' and signed music-video director Nzingha Stewart to helm the screenplay adaptation.
Congrats to Alyson Hannigan and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, who welcomed a daughter, named Satyana Denisof on March 24 in Los Angeles.

Tyra Banks was an honoree Sunday at the 20th annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. Both of Tyra's shows "The Tyra Banks Show" and "America’s Next Top Model," were given the Excellence in Media Award, which goes to individuals who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the gay and lesbian community. 
Studdard's new album is titled "Truth is" and it hits shelves May 19th.

KELLY ROWLAND has reportedly been dropped by her record label, just two months after firing her manager, Matthew Knowles. According to a British tabloid (News of The World) Kelly was dumped by Columbia, because they fear she is "no longer commercially viable". Damn.. thats a slap in the face.
Jill Scott's new HBO series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, had it's two-hour premiere last night. I must say i really enjoyed the show. It was absolutely great! Jill along side Anika Noni Rose star in the series which is based on the best-selling novel by Alexander McCall Smith. Jill is the owner of Botswana’s first and only female-owned detective agency for the benefit of those who need help the most and her secretary. Anika plays her Secretary.
Queen Latifah will star in the upcoming film "Just Wright," which is a romantic comedy. Latifah will play a physical therapist who falls in love with a basketball player while helping him recover from a career-threatening injury.

Apparently T-Pain got into a golf carting accident over the weekend. He wrecked his golf cart backstage which resulted in him losing 4 teeth and having tons of cuts and bruises. Word is he has had to miss a few concert dates over the weekend and also his video shoot with Lil Kim.
T.I. was officially sentenced today to 1 year and a day for his weapons charges. He has 30-60 days to report to jail. 
Word is there were only 8,000 people who showed up. And from the looks of things it's same things different day. no media was allowed in the show but from the looks of things i can see why as well; there is wayy too many slow performances. In the mist of Flo Rida driving across country to promote his upcoming CD R.O.O.T.S. Police in Lexington, Kentucky are looking to question him and two members of his entourage over allegations of animal abuse. According to reports, witnesses said they saw two men exiting the tour bus on Wednesday and brutally killing a rabbit before jumping back on the bus and leaving the scene. Both Lexington Police and Animal Control are investigating the incident and want to question the occupants of the bus. Of course his label has issued a statement denying anyone in his entourage harmed an animal.

Singer Wayna was arrested at a Houston airport this week after trying to board a plane with a collapsible police baton that she uses in her stage act. Wanta, whose real name is Woyneab Miraf Wondwossen, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon after security guards at the checkpoint at Bush International Airport discovered the 24-inch baton in her carry-on bag. Wondwossen, was transported to the Houston jail and posted $5,000 bond.

According to officials of Malawi, momma Madonna is on her way back to Malawi to adopt a child. Madonna is expected to appear in the High Court in the capital of Lilongwe next week to start the process for the second adoption. Madonna wants a sister for her son David, 3, whom she adopted from the country. 
“Meet the Fockers” has a sequel on the way titled “Little Fockers” which is set for an early July start date. The whole cast is returning... I'm so excited!

My girl Jada Pinkett Smith will return to the small screen soon.. Both staring and executive producing TNT’s new medical drama, Hawthorne. Jada also did an interview with NPR reporter Tony Cox, addressing rumors about her marriage to actor Will Smith and allegations that a school she co-founded with her husband has ties to Scientology. “I definitely respect and understand people’s curiosity, but people, they have to trust me when I speak on my truth…If I say to you, ‘I don’t have an open marriage,’ ‘No, we’re not gay,’ and you don’t trust that, well then there’s nothing that I really have to say to anybody about anything, because at the end of the day, I’m living my life, and I’m happy.”

Wendy Raquel Robinson will be recognized at the Silver Rose Awards Gala in April.The organization that is honorng her is the Jenesse Center, it's a non profit organization that provides a holistic, comprehensive program to nurture victimized families back to a place of mental, financial, physical and emotional well being. Robinson was chosen for her work in nurturing young people to become self sufficient through professional training in the performing arts. She is also the co-founder of Amazing Grace Conservatory (AGC), a theatrical training institute for young adults 8 to 18, which is committed to "building self-esteem through self-expression." Chaired by Oscar winner Halle Berry, the theme for the 2009 Silver Rose event is Self Sufficiency.
Just when you think everything is about to be all good with Michael Vick, he'll be in court yet again next week. Apparently there were several complaints filed in federal district and bankruptcy courts in Newport News,Va. The Department of Labor is accusing Vick of illegally withdrawing more than $1.3 million from a pension plan.

Justin Timberlake is launching a new brand of tequila named 901. The Tequila will hit stores in early May in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and St. Louis, reports People. The Tequila got it's name because “901 is that time of night when your evening is ending, but your night is just beginning. It is also a subtle nod to his hometown." Its also the area for Justin's hometown Memphis.
