Trump's Ban

Image
This past weekend has really been crazy for me and for this country. Our new President has really been abusing his power his first week in office. Citizens are literally begging Congress to step in and stand by the constitution that they so proudly claim to uphold! (Side-eye) But they haven;t done much as of yet. Right now, I'm not really going to say to much because I will become really upset and the way my temper is set up, it is not worth it. It's 2017, I'm am working on being a better me. But i will say this ****** has to go!  In the words of our previous President... " That's not American. That's not who we are... "

Women's March on Washington!

Image
I love being a woman and I loves seeing women come together for causes that affect us. So there is no surprise that i was filled with join to see and watch all the videos and images that posted on the web and social media of an estimated 600,000 women in  Washington DC, These women all came together to speak out against the country’s new President's agenda and to speak in support of women’s rights and human rights. Marches happened all over the U.S., today even one in my home town of Seattle. I truly wish i could have attended somewhere yet I have been attending my sofa and doing homework all day. Travel: I want to see the Seven Wonders of the World (Old and New)

Image
I love traveling. Something about being able to see all of the things that God has created or that he has allowed man to create gives me this freedom that is unexplained. For many years before I became a mom I traveled by myself every birthday. Since having my daughter she has been to many places. I have wanted to make sure that I show her the world outside of the block she resides on. I told myself once I am completely done with graduate school. (Which will be December of this year) I want to travel across seas. I want to see the old and new wonders of the world. I want to spend the whole month of July in the summer backpacking or going somewhere, where I can learn more about other ways of life. With the state of this presidency I am a little nervous but nervousness has not ever stopped me before. Here are a few places I desperately have to see! 1. Great Pyramid of Giza 2.  Colossus of Rhodes 3.  Taj Mahal  4. Valley of the Kings 5. Antelope Cannon Other Pl

Solange interviewed by Beyonce for INTERVIEW Mag

Image
BEYONCƉ: Are you exhausted? I know you had a parent-teacher conference ... SOLANGE: Yeah, I actually had to fly to Philly because there were no flights left to New York. And now I'm driving from Philly to New York. Well, I'm not driving, but ... BEYONCƉ: You have to drive? From Philly? SOLANGE: Yeah. But it's not bad. It's only an hour and 40 minutes. BEYONCƉ: Oh my God! Rock star. Well, it is a bit strange, because we're sisters and we talk all the time, to be interviewing you. But I'm so happy to interview you because, clearly, I'm your biggest fan and I'm super proud of you. So we'll start from the beginning. Growing up, you were always attracted to the most interesting fashion, music, and art. You were obsessed with Alanis Morissette and Minnie Riperton and mixing prints with your clothes ... when you were only 10 years old. You would lock yourself in a room with your drum set and a record player and write songs. Do you remember that? Of

I Once Was Lost, Now I'm Found!

Six days into January and I feel a great sense excitement. I know you're thinking, "calm down." But have you ever been at a stage in life where you can see some of the things you have desired falling into a place of balance and completion? I mean literally chapters ended and new ones to write. Does it take you back to those nights, hours and days you spent on your knees slinging snot begging for God to answer your prayers? Aren't you glad you didn't skip the process? Do you remember losing yourself and asking God why me? My God! All i ask now is why not me? ...Just last year I was working in a customer service job that didn't value me or my damn time. A Master's degree, two published books, a two time sold out stage play, workshops and i done it all as a not so single mother ( I have a lot to help from family and friends so I don't really consider myself a single mom. )  making less than 10/hr and receiving food stamps. Frustrated, broken, angry a

Embrace Your Greys

Image
I'm only 34 and i have a head full of grey hairs. I've had them for several years now. Honestly, I've never been ashamed of them. I actually stopped coloring my hair because i wanted them to grow in and show as much as they could. But it brings me to the question of why do women dread having grey hair? What's wrong with aging? I can't see anything but beauty in them. It's apart of the aging process. I know a lot of women who do everything they can to stay young. But I am loving getting older. With age comes wisdom, stability, freedom on so many levels and this crazy confidence that i truly find amazing. Either way, Shutout to the beautiful Tia Mowry Hardict w hen most people hide them s he also sees the beauty in embracing who you are. She recently stated  about embracing the changes of her body.  She said,   " G r eys I see you, but guess what, that's okay. Because with grey hair, comes wisdom: ) ” Embrace your greys ladies! They are a beauty that
